With these,…

…, I made this,…

…, and that.

Another way of finishing log cabin.

Take a fish in the sea…

… a cosy boat,…

… add a simple frame to the picture…

… and you will discover a new decoration for our bathroom.

A good appliqué exercise; a fun to make.

Finally framed

Here is a wonderful stitchery that illustrates perfectly my passion for patchwork and quilting. I received it unframed from Ann for my birthday (some months ago); Ann wanted to leave me total freedom in the finishing.

In order to emphasize its beauty, I wanted something simple and old.

This frame is in my husband’s family for some time now. It was made in the 1930’s by his great-uncle, a craftsman who received a price for “The Best Worker of Belgium in 1936″ !

It was just per-fect !

Ann, your master piece couldn’t deserve less ! Thank you.

Wishing you all a pleasant Sunday.

Yesterday, I took the afternoon off to go to the Open Days of a patchwork shop: Cosy Cottage.

In my shopping bag, lots of colors:

red,…

…blue,…

green,…

and purple.

Today, I decided to use some of these fabrics to make a pincushion.

But not any pincushion: a retro pinni.

This cushion is a creation of Amanda Brooke. And as soon as she released her patterns, I HAD to get mine ;-)

Very easy to make, I can only but recommend you to get your pattern.

Wishing you a pleasant weekend.

3 Red stars

Today, I decided to take a few fabrics with me at the office in order to cut some pieces and sew them in the train.

On my way back home, I managed to piece 3 red stars; a prelude to a new project.

Customisation

Take a nice pouch (directly from the shop is better – and faster ;-) ),…

… add a decoration to the front,…

…, a bright lining for the colour,…

… and you will get a nice little purse.

So easy and fast to make that you will not stop to one ;-) .

For the last bookshelves quilt, I wanted something completely different from the others. So I took out those beautiful fabrics I received, and started a “Broken dishes” quilt.

There we are: another project to add on my “to be quilted” list ;-) .

Have a nice weekend.

After second thoughts, I decided a change of plan regarding my 1st Amish project.

I went for a more traditional pattern and the bear paws was more appropriate regarding the used colours. Contrary to what it seems, sashing and borders are not white but lilac. And it is just… perfect !

Friendship

Because you thought these fabrics would be better with me than at the shop… :-)

Because I totally agree with you… ;-)

I just wanted to say thank You ! I’m sure I’ll have fun with these.

In order to chase all the grey in the sky, I decided to play with jelly rolls and make some log cabin blocs.

This really warms up my sewing place.
